Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control static pressures in the ink trap by a method in which a small-size ink storage container is provided between the ink trap and an ink storage container, and the level of liquid in the small-size ink storage container is adjusted by a valve provided in both the storage containers.
CONSTITUTION: A valve 205 is provided between an ink storage container 202 and an ink storage container 204, and the variation in the level of ink liquid in the container 204 is detected by a liquid level detector 206. The level of liquid in the container 204 is adjusted by opening or closing the valve 205 by means of a control circuit 207. The static pressure of ink in the ink trap 105 of a printing head can thus be controlled.
