PURPOSE: To obtain a safer, inexpensive and efficient apparatus for drying the ink jet image on a substrate by supplying compressed air to a chamber and supplying air to an ink image at a high speed in small vol. by a plurality of nozzles.

CONSTITUTION: A bottle 2 is passed through the printing head of an ink jet printer immediately after it issues from a dehydrator 4. A printing head bonds a desired ink image to the bottle 2. The bottle 2 on which an undried ink jet image is printed is subsequently passed through a dryer 8. The dryer 8 has an airtight housing 10 and a hot air chamber 12 is formed in the airtight housing 10. The chamber 12 communicates with a plurality of air nozzles 14 and the compressed air supplied to the chamber 12 issues from the nozzles at a high speed.
