Title:
INK RECORDING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59222363
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the quality of a recorded image due to the deficiency of ink, by providing a third electrode on the upper electrode of the two through the intermediary of a plurality of ink-conducting parts, and providing a porous body and a fourth electrode further thereon, in an ink recording device utilizing electroendosmosis.

CONSTITUTION: Liquid ink 37 stored in an ink supply unit is made to permeate a second porous body 32 electrically by the working of an ink supply power source 38 provided between a third electrode 31 and a fourth electrode 33, and liquid ink 5 moving in the direction of arrows 39 is also controlled thereby. Consequently, the liquid ink 5, which passes through small orifices 36 of the third electrode and is conducted along an ink-conducting part 35 in the direction of an arrow 40 and supplied to a second electrode 6, is controlled by equalizing the potentials of the second and third electrodes 6 and 31 and by applying a voltage V1 from the ink supply power source 38. The ink supply unit 30 is made to contact, in its part 42, with the second electrode 6 only by the ink-conducting part 35, and the area of contact thereof with the electrode 6 is small. In addition, the third electrode 31 is devised to have a large two-dimentional expansion. By this constitution, the ununiformity in an image on a recording medium 8 due to the non-uniformity in the supply of the liquid ink can be eliminated even when the device is operated at high speed.
