To provide, at a low cost, an ink ribbon cartridge of which the size can be restricted within prescribed limits and which can prolong the life of ink to a large extent, while eliminating the property of leakage of ink.

This ink ribbon cartridge is composed of an ink ribbon and a wick, which holds ink and supplies it to the ink ribbon. The wick used herein has a two-layer structure of a permeation layer formed of bound fibers and a cover layer made of synthetic resin and covering the permeation layer. The inexpensive and simple structure according to this constitution realizes the ink ribbon cartridge that ensures the quality of a printing apparatus being small in size and having a large number of print units in the long-time and enduring use thereof and enables execution of excellent printing even on coarse paper consuming ink very much.
