Abstract:

To determine the color-reproducibility of a ribbon by the presence and absence of discrimination marks color-formed at image printing.

A transparent heat sensitive zone 20 is provided at a part of the specific area 35Y of an ink ribbon. The transparent heat sensitive is colored so as to form a discrimination mark 20A. When the colored mark is not detected at a coloring mode, or when the discrimination mark is detected in spite of a coloring mode, all ones are determined as reuse ribbons. Namely, the discrimination means to ascertain whether the discrimination mark is a reuse ink ribbon or not. By utilizing this, it is informed to the user in order to avoid wrong recognition on color-reproducibility.
