Abstract:
PURPOSE:To contrive prevention of breakage of small diameter wires and enhancement of printing quality, by using nylon as a blank material for a synthetic resin base fabric, specifying the fineness of the raw yarn, the number of filaments and the count, and incorporating specified amounts of carbon black and nigrosine and oleic acid into an ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon for an impact printer, comprising an ink supported on a synthetic resin base fabric, uses nylon as a blank material for the base fabric, and has a fabric structure in which the fineness of the raw yarn is 30 deniers for both the warp and the weft, the number of filaments constituting the yarns is 26 for both the warp and the weft, and the count of the warp is 170-185 whereas the count of the weft is 105-120. The ink comprises 1-6wt.% of carbon black, 15-25wt.% of nigrosine, and 60-74wt.% of oleic acid. The ink comprises an oil, a dispersant or the like, if required, in addition to carbon black, nigrosine and oleic acid. The nylon used as the black material may be either nylon 66 or nylon 6. With this ink ribbon, breakage of small diameter wires can be prevented, high printing quality can be obtained, and the useful life of the printer can be prolonged.
