PURPOSE: To provide an ink ribbon capable of forming an image reversibly changed in its transparency in dependence on heating temp. on an arbitrary image receiving material at an arbitrary position.

CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer ink ribbon 10 for producing a dry transfer material is obtained by forming a pressure sensitive adhesive layer 12 containing a binder and a pressure sensitive adhesive, a reversible recording layer 13 consisting of a resin and an org. monomeric substance and reversibly changed in its transparency in dependence on heating temp. and a transfer control layer 14 containing a thermal adhesive resin and a stickiness imparting resin and higher than the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and the reversible recording layer in viscosity and high in thermal adhesiveness, hardness and flocculation force on one surface of a film like ribbon base material (support) 11 in this order.
