An ink tank comprises a case 22 having an ink delivery opening 25, a first ink containing chamber 23 communicating with the ink delivery opening 25 while partitioning the case 22, a partition wall 31 defining a second ink containing chamber 24, and means communicating between the first and second ink containing chamber 23, 24 and supplying liquid from the second ink containing chamber 24 to the first ink containing chamber 23. When an operator recognizes ink empty of an ink tank 21, the operator operates the liquid supply means to conduct the first and second ink containing chamber 23, 24 thus supplying liquid from the second ink containing chamber 24 to the first ink containing chamber 23.
