PURPOSE: To simply perform the ink treatment especially, ink distribution of a printability evaluation apparatus by spirally bonding ink to the surface of an ink distributing roll and bringing a separate roll into contact with said roll under rotation to distribute the ink.
CONSTITUTION: At first, the ink supply needle 30 of an ink cartridge 3 is allowed to approach the surface of the top part of an ink distributing metal roll 1 while said metal roll 1 is rotated by a slow speed rotary motor 20 and axially moved by an ink cartridge moving motor 37 to bond ink to the surface of the metal roll 1. Next, a rubber roll 2 is laterally slid by a rubber roll sliding motor 25 while the metal roll 1 is rotated by a fast rotary motor 25 and brought into contact with the metal roll 1 to be rotated. The ink bonded to the surface of the metal roll 1 is developed and distributed in the circumferential and lateral directions of the metal roll 1 by the rubber roll 2 and printing is performed by the rubber roll 2 to which the ink is transferred.
