PURPOSE: To lessen the number of rollers, to be able to cope with no keying system, and to obtain good prints, by making a metallic roller or a surface hard resin roller of which the peripheral speed is the least one an elastic roller.

CONSTITUTION: An inking arrangement 10 is composed of an ink fountain 11, an elastic roller 10 of which at least the surface is made of rubber, a making uniform thin film means consisting of a first metallic roller 22 and a second metallic roller 23, and a forme roller 16. Printing ink 30 in the ink fountain 11 is effectively made a uniform thin film by the making uniform thin film means and fed to a plate cylinder 50 via the forme roller 16. For the uniform thin film making means, i.e., elastic roller 21, the first metallic roller 22, and the second metallic roller 23, by successively increasing their peripheral speed like a three-piece roller mill, ink moves only in one direction. Ink is not refluxed to the ink fountain and paper powder is not mixed. The contamination of ink disappears and besides, this inking arrangement can cope with no keying system.
