To provide an inkjet head which can prevent an ejection delay of ink and can also improve the liquid drip of the ink, and to provide its control method.
The inkjet head 10 has an ejection electrode 18 and a guard electrode 20 at a discharge opening substrate 16 where a discharge opening 28 is formed. A guard control part 35 applies controlling an AC bias voltage to the guard electrode 20. The AC bias voltage to be applied to the guard electrode 20 is controlled at the guard electrode control part 35 so that the ink becomes easy to eject at the time of ejection of the ink and the ink becomes hard to eject at the time of non ejection of the ink. The ejection delay of the ink can be prevented, and at the same time the liquid drip of the ink can be improved accordingly.
