To provide an inkjet printer configured to check nozzles so that printing throughput and printing quality can be obtained in accordance with user's convenience or a user's demand.
A control unit 30 of the inkjet printer 1 is configured to check the nozzles by means of a nozzle checking mechanism with different performance frequency based on setting reliability set by a reliability setting unit 37 composed of a non-volatile memory. In the case of printing a fine image, the high reliability is established, and the nozzles are checked for every issue of one label, then, high printing quality free from image-missing is maintained. Contrarily, in the case the user wants to quickly print an image of printing quality enough to prevent misreading letters, the low reliability is established as the setting reliability, and when a series of print job is finished, the nozzles are checked, accordingly, the reduction in printing throughput caused by frequent nozzle-checking is prevented.
