Abstract:

To provide an inkjet printer that can perform cleaning operation at appropriate timing.SOLUTION: A printer 10 comprises ultraviolet light irradiation devices 41 and 42 that irradiate light toward light-curing ink discharged to a recording medium 5 and a controlling device 70 that controls an ink head 30, the ultraviolet light irradiation devices 41 and 42 and a suction pump 93. The control device 70 comprises: a first estimation unit 77 that estimates a first light integrated light volumes of light reflected on a nozzle surface 33 of the ink head 30 at least on the basis of a head gap HG; a first determination unit 78 that determines whether the first integrated light volumes exceed a predetermined threshold; and a cleaning unit 80 that cleans a first nozzle 31 when it is determined that the first integrated light volumes exceed the predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
