Title:
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3966356
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus free from residual bubbles inside an ejection nozzle after the exchange of an ink cartridge or the mounting of a new ink cartridge.
SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording apparatus (a printer) which performs a purge operation (S70) to suck ink from the nozzle surface side of the ejection nozzle when it senses the mounting of an ink cartridge onto a recording head having the ejection nozzle (S30:YES), it performs an ink ejection operation (S50) by driving the ejection nozzle for a length of time required for ejecting more ink than the capacity of the connection passage between the ink cartridge and the recording head. As a result, the generation of air bubbles accompanying the purge operation, after the exchange of an ink cartridge or the mounting of a new cartridge, can be suppressed since purging is performed in a state with no air present on both surfaces of respective filter members installed on ink feeding ports of the ink cartridge and on the ink receiving ports of the recording head.
