Abstract:
To reduce an ink discharge amount when an ink is supplied from an ink tank to a recording head.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording device includes: a recording head having a discharge port surface on which multiple discharge ports for discharging an ink are provided; an ink tank which houses the ink supplied to the recording head; a cap which can be switched between a cover state where the cap covers the discharge port surface and an exposed state where the cap exposes the discharge port surface; and suction means connected to the cap. The inkjet recording device performs ink filling operation in which the device supplies the ink from the ink tank to the recording head by suctioning the ink for a predetermined time with the suction means when the cap is in the cover state and includes: determination means which determines whether the ink reaches the cap; and control means which controls the ink filling operation based on a determination result of the determination means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
