To provide an inkjet recording device for which the replenishment adjustment for an ink and a solvent (intensifier) is easily made.
This inkjet recording device has a main ink tank, an ink replenishing means, and an intensifier replenishing means. In this case, to the main ink tank, ink particles trapped in a gutter are returned and placed so that the ink may be reused for the formation of characters and images. The ink replenishing means replenishes the replenishing ink for a portion which has been consumed for the formation of characters and images to the main ink tank. The intensifier replenishing means replenishes the replenishing intensifier for a portion which has been volatilized to the main ink tank. The inkjet recording device also has a liquid amount sensing means which senses the ink liquid amount accumulated in the main ink tank, and the liquid amount sensing means can sense a plurality of liquid surface levels including upper, central and lower. Further, the liquid surface level to be sensed is selected depending on the environmental temperature.
