Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, when immediately starting printing without performing maintenance such as arrangement of a meniscus of a recording head after removing a cap, there occurs a discharge failure such as non-discharge and a bend of an ink droplet.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording device having a cap mechanism for covering a recording head has a mode for performing recording immediately after removing a cap, and a mode for performing maintenance of the recording head after removing the cap, and performs control for changing a way of abutment of the recording head and the cap at each mode. In the mode in which recording is performed immediately after removing the cap, the abutment is strengthened, and in the mode in which the maintenance of the recording head is performed immediately after removing the cap, the abutment is weakened.
