Abstract:
To provide an ink jet recording device capable of properly executing flushing for recovering a discharge function of a heating element.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device is equipped with a recording head that has a filling portion 150 filled with ink, and a heater 155 disposed on the filling portion 150 and performing discharge action for discharging the ink of the filling portion 150 from a discharge port 150a. A CPU of the ink jet recording device can execute image recording processing for recording an image on a sheet by the discharge action, and flushing recovering a discharge function of the recording head by the discharge action using thermal energy larger than the image recording processing. The CPU decides a timing of executing the flushing according to a filling continuing time continuing a filling state that the ink is filled in the filling portion 150 and a cumulative total number of discharge times performed by image recording processing after the filling portion 150 is in the filled state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
