To provide a recording head which permits inflow of foreign matter into a pressure chamber to be restrained and a board to be downsized without lowering a refilling characteristic.
The recording head 13 includes a substrate 2, a plurality of pressure chambers 8 arranged along a first direction X, and a filter 11. The recording head has additionally a first common liquid chamber 4a formed between the adjacent pressure chambers 8, a second common liquid chamber 4b formed outside the pressure chamber 8 located at the end, a first ink supply opening 6a communicating with the first common liquid chamber 4a, a second ink supply opening 6b communicating with the second common liquid chamber 4b, an ink receiving portion 5 formed so as to communicate with both of the first and second ink supply openings 6a and 6b. The first common liquid chamber 4a communicates with each of the pressure chambers 8 adjacent to the first common liquid chamber 4a through the filter 11 and the second common liquid chamber 4b communicates with the pressure chamber 8 adjacent to the second common liquid chamber 4b not through the filter 11.
