To provide an inkjet recording method and a recording medium capable of solving a disadvantage experienced heretofore, and in particular, an inkjet recording method and a recording medium capable of obtaining an image of quality approximated to photograph image quality by suppressing deterioration in glossiness of the image recorded on a recording part by using a pigment ink, which image is further excellent in scratch resistance.

The inkjet recording method records by giving the ink according to recording information on the surface of a recording medium. The ink is a polymer emulsion including a fine polymer particle dispersed phase containing a water-insoluble or difficultly water-soluble coloring material in a continuous phase or a self-dispersing type pigment. The recording medium has a porous layer including organic particles dissolved in or softened by a water-soluble organic solvent contained in the ink and particles not dissolved in water or the water-soluble organic solvent contained in the ink as an outermost layer.
