This inlet safety device has an inlet member 11 for covering the outer periphery of a moving handrail 5 in a position for making the moving handrail 5 enter a skirt part 6 and movably arranged in the moving direction (h) of the moving handrail 5, and a plurality of detecting switches 16 and 17 for detecting displacement in the moving direction (h) of the moving handrail 5 of the inlet member 11, and is characterized in that the plurality of detecting switch parts 16 and 17 detect the displacement of the inlet member 11 in a different position of a displacement quantity of the inlet member 11.
