Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a control cable having excellent operability and long life by improving the characteristics of an inner wire for control cable and the process for the production of the wire.
CONSTITUTION: An inner wire is worked to have a surface roughness of ≤5μm in terms of Rz and/or imparted its surface with residual compressive stress of ≥500 MPa. The application of the stress is carried out by subjecting an oil-tempered steel wire to electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing, nitriding treatment or shot peening treatment.
