Abstract:
To provide an inorganic decorative article, which is formed with an inorganic material, is excellent in characteristics such as thermal resistance, can develop a structural color excellent in aesthetic continuously over a wide area, and can apply gradation and wet-on-wet coating of the structural color thereto; and to provide a method for producing the same at low cost and on a low environmental load, capable of forming a multi-layered periodic structure rapidly.SOLUTION: A structural color consisting of a multilayered periodic structure can be developed continuously over a wide area by: directly forming an aggregate, in which inorganic particles are arranged substantially regularly, on a surface of an inorganic base material; and joining the aggregate through a glass phase. Moreover, an inorganic decorative article showing the structural color can be obtained in a short period by: precipitating the inorganic particles through liquid phase synthesis; preparing a fluid dispersion comprising a component as the glass phase for joining the inorganic particles and the surface thereof; and coating the fluid dispersion onto the inorganic base material and performing calcination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
