Abstract:

To provide an inorganic fiber clay composite material having the same high heat resistance as asbestos which can be suitably used for a seal material or the like as that of a substitute for asbestos, to provide a method of manufacturing the same, and to provide a gasket or a packing made of the composite material.

The composite material having a structure including inorganic fibers and clay as main components, wherein clay is mixed in and/or laminated on and/or enters the inorganic fiber layer, the method of manufacturing the composite material, and the gasket or packing made of the composite material, are provided.
