Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inorganic fiber paper having density being controlled in a preferred range and improved impregnation property before firing.SOLUTION: The inorganic fiber paper is a base material which is obtained by sheeting by wet machining using: a bio-soluble ceramic fiber; a glass fiber having a compounding ratio in the fiber content of 0 wt.% or more and 70 wt.% or less; an organic fiber having an average fiber diameter of 17 μm or more and 25 μm or less; at least one kind of cationic inorganic binder selected from aluminium sulfate, polyaluminum chloride, cationic colloidal silica, and alumina sol; and sepiolite. The inorganic fiber paper has a density of 0.25 g/cmor more and less than 0.40 g/cmand a fluid retention volume of 100 g/mor more before firing.SELECTED DRAWING: None
