Abstract:

To provide a surface strengthening means for an inorganic foamed body, by which the treatability of the surface of the inorganic foamed body high in magnification of foaming can be improved, and white appearance can inexpensively be obtained by easily strengthening the surface.

A part or the whole of the surface of a foamed body formed of a forming material containing a calculous inorganic component, a water- containing second component hardening the calculous inorganic component in an alkaline region and a foaming component, and having magnification in foaming of ≥5 times is coated with gypsum paste obtained by mixing calcined gypsum and water, and this gypsum paste is solidified. Thus, a surface protective layer consisting of the solidified gypsum is formed on a part or the whole of the surface of the foamed body.
