PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy input of various types of characters with a small number of keys by reading the address of a cursor and the address of a group within a group address memory circuit through an address arithmetic circuit and storing these addresses to a character memory circuit after operation to display them.
CONSTITUTION: An operator shifts the characters displayed on a display device 3 by a cursor via an input device 5 and selects a desired character to supply the address of the character to a cursor address memory device 6. The address supplied to the memory 6 is equal to the address of the cursor set on the device 3. An address arithmetic device 7 reads out both of the address of the cursor and the address of a group in a group address memory circuit 4 for operation. Then a character address in a character generator 1 for the character fed by the device 5 is calculated and stored to a character memory circuit 8. This operation is repeated. Thus the operator can feed a desired character and also displays the contents of the circuit 8 to the device 3 and also can transfer them.
