Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an input device for an information processor in order to promote the power saving and the longer service time of a display device and also to offer a pleasant operating environment to an operator of the information processor.
CONSTITUTION: When an operator is included in the sensing range of a nearby sensor 104, the sensor 104 notifies a controller 105 of the presence of the operator. Then the controller 105 sends a pseudo input signal of the input having no meaning by itself to a signal processor 101 in a time cycle shorter than the time that is set for actuation of a screen protection function. The processor 101 regards the continuous operation of an input device 103 based on the received pseudo input signal and therefore does not actuate the screen protection function nor perform the shift to a resume function. Furthermore, the controller 105 transmits the signal of the device 103 with preference to prevent the malfunctions as long as the device 103 is kept in its original operation state.
