To provide an input device with biological information authentication and a biological information authentication method which allow security performance to be improved by a simple operation.SOLUTION: An input device with biological information authentication 1 comprises a biological information acquisition unit 12, an input unit 10, and a control unit 13. The biological information acquisition unit 12 acquires biological information. The input unit 10 is arranged to overlap the biological information acquisition unit 12 and activates application software having a function different from a function of acquiring biological information. In response to an operation on the input unit 10, the control unit 13 activates the application software when biological information is acquired by the biological acquisition unit 12 and is authenticated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
