The input device that detects approach of an input body and detects an input operation of the input body includes: a plate metal frame 15; a layered sensor sheet 3 stacked on the metal frame 15 in a thickness direction and including a thin plate or film dielectric layer 4, a first electrode 7 arranged on one of the surfaces in the thickness direction of the dielectric layer 4 and further from the metal frame 15, and a second electrode 9 arranged on one of the surfaces of the dielectric layer 4 and nearer to the metal frame 15; and a detection circuit 24 which is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes 7 and 9, outputs a drive signal for detecting a change in capacitance between the input body 100 and the sensor sheet 3 to the second electrode 9, and receives the drive signal output to the second electrode 9 via the first electrode 7.
