PURPOSE: To obtain a compact input device having high operability and less troubles by providing a pair of pressure sensors which cross to each other and can generate the signals independent of each other and a means which transmits these independent signals to an arithmetic unit.
CONSTITUTION: An arithmetic unit processes the position data on a cursor and a pointer and displays them on a display device based on those position data. Then a pair of pressure sensors 8 and 10 are set crossing to each other. An input device has such a constitution. When an operator touches both sensors 8 and 10 with his/her fingers, the independent signals are generated. These signals are sent to the arithmetic unit as the position data and the cursor and the pointer are moved on a display screen. Thus the cursor and the pointer are moved on a display screen. Thus the cursor, etc., can be moved over a wide range even with use of a small area on a desk since just repetitive touches are needed to both sensors 8 and 10. In such a constitution, a compact input device is obtained with high operability and less troubles.
