PURPOSE: To make an input display device possible to continuously input characters or the like in arbitrary directions including up, down, right, and left directions with easy operation by using a mouse.

CONSTITUTION: A character key discriminating means 7 judges whether or not character key 12 on keyboard 1 is pushed during continuous transfer of the cursor by a mouse input means 2. Further, in the state that pushing of character key 12 during the continuous transfer of the cursor is detected, a character control means 8 carries out output control of the character corresponding to the character key 12 every time the cursor moves by one character. Then, a character key control means 8 prohibits a character key output control means 9 from moving the cursor. With this, continuous character inputting can be carries out while moving the cursor.
