Title:
INPUT TORQUE DETECTOR OF POWER STEERING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10305777
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To detect exact input torque by providing an input shaft projection of an input shaft, inserting an output shaft projection pressed on the cam surface of the other end of a sleeve by a spring between an output shaft outer peripheral projecting part and one end of the sleeve in the shaft direction groove at one end of the sleeve and inserting the detection pin of a torque sensor in the detection groove on the outer periphery of the sleeve.

Revolution force of an input shaft 2 due to input torque of a steering wheel is transmitted to an output shaft 4 via a torsion bar 3. The output shaft 4 is linked with a wheel, the revolution is prevented by ground friction resistance of the wheel, the input shaft 2 and the output shaft 4 perform relative revolution because of torsion of the torsion bar 3 and a sleeve 8 moves in the vertical direction in the shaft direction according to the revolution amount and the revolution direction. By the moving of the sleeve 8 in the shaft direction, also a detection pin 13 inserted into the detection groove 9 of the sleeve 8 moves and a torque sensor 12 detects input torque by the moving amount. Because a cam surface 11 is pressed by a pin 15 via a cylinder part 16, play is eliminated, the torque sensor 12 does not have a dead zone, abrasion is prevented and deviation of a neutral location can be prevented.
