Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the carpet, which has a high deodorizing effect, is not limited in design and has a miticidal effect by consisting long piles of fibers subjected to moth-proof finishing and short piles of chromatic deodorant fibers. CONSTITUTION:The piles having differences in pile length are constituted at every one array on a base fabric 1. The short piles are applied with the chromatic deodorant fibers 4 and the long piles with the moth-proof fibers 5. For example, the chromatic deodorant fibers 4 are the deodorant fibers formed by depositing a metal phthalocyanine deriv. on the fibers which is a chelate compd. having a porphyrin nucleus. For example, the moth-proof fibers 5 are formed by depositing isobornyl thiocyanoacetic acid on polyester, nylon, acryl, rayon, cotton, and wool. Since the chromatic deodorant fibers 4 are blended with the piles, the area in contact with the air in a room is wide and the deodorizing effect increases. Although there is the limitation in the coloration of the chromatic deodorant fibers 4, the short piles blended with the deodorant fibers 4 sunk under the long piles and attain an invisible state. The interior merchandise value is thus enhanced. The antimicrobial fibers 5 are applied on the long piles to entirely obviate the propagation of ticks in the piles.
