To provide an insect pest control composition which contains a food or a food additive as a main ingredient and exhibits the quick effectivity of insect control effect and excellent capturing effect.

The insect pest control composition is characterized by comprising the following (a), (b) and (c), wherein the sum [a+b] of the contents of the ingredients a and b is 0.1-15 mass% based on the total amount of the composition; the mass ratio [a/b] of the ingredients a and b is 1/2-4/1; the content of the ingredient c is 60-99.5 mass% per the total amount of the composition. (a) Sorbitan polyoxyethylene monolaurate; (b) a fatty acid glyceride wherein the carbon number of the acyl group is 8-12, and the content of the monoglyceride is ≥85 mass% based on the total amount of the ingredient; (c) one or more aqueous kinds of solvents selected from water, ethanol, propanol, and propylene glycol.
