This insect pest-controlling composition comprises 4-methoxymethyl-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl 3-(2-cyano-1-propenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, a saturated hydrocarbon having an initial boiling point of 150C and having a 95 percent distillation temperature of 300C, and one or more alkyl carboxylates selected from (i) 12-20C alkyl alkylcarboxylates, (ii) 12-20C dialkyl dicarboxylates, and (iii) 12-20C trialkyl acetylcitrates. The insect pest-controlling composition has an excellent insect pest-controlling efficacy.
