PURPOSE: To obtain an insecticidal aerosol extremely effective for controlling especially cockroaches, being sprayed to give an average particle diameter in a specific range, having high insecticidal effect, comprising an aqueous spray of a pyrethroid compound as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: This insecticidal aerosol comprising an aqueous spray of a pyrethroid compound such as allethrin, phenothrin or cyphenothrin as an active ingredient and has 120-160μm average particle diameter when sprayed. An aerosol of an aqueous spray consisting of the pyrethroid compound, an alkylbenzenesulfonate, a nonionic surfactant and a polar solvent may be cited as an aerosol of the aqueous spray containing the pyrethroid compound as an active ingredient. A propellant for the aerosol includes, for example, air, nitrogen, carbon dioxide gas, etc. The composition of the insecticidal aerosol is preferably 0.025-1wt.% of the pyrethroid compound, 0.05-2wt.% of a metal salt of the alkylbenzenesulfonate, 0.05-4wt.% of the nonionic surfactant, a polar solvent and the rest of water.
