PURPOSE: To provide the subject massively producible insecticide by employing as an active ingredient a recombined virus prepared by simultaneously infecting both the strains of two kinds of nuclear polyhedrosis virus having different host insects in the host insect of one virus.
CONSTITUTION: Both the strains of two kinds of nuclear polyhedrosis virus having different host insects (especially preferably a combination of silkworm or tobacco cutworm and autogragher-californica) are infected in the host insect infected with only one of the viruses by an endermic inoculation method, an oral administration method or a combination of the method. A body fluid is collected from the larva of the infected insect and cloned by a plaque method using cells infected by only one of the viruses to prepare a recombined virus, which is formulated as an active ingredient to provide the objective insecticide.
