Abstract:

CONSTITUTION: The agent comprises a polyfluorobenzyl alcohol ester derivative of formula I (R1 and R2 are halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, fluoroalkyl or fluoroalkoxy; R3 is ethyl, n-or isopropyl or cyclopropyl; R4 is H, ethynyl or cyano; R5, R6, R8 and R9 are F; R7 is H or F) as an active ingredient. This agent is capable of exhibiting excellent insecticidal and mothproofing effects and the volatility and effects thereof are optimum as an insecticide and a mothproofing agent. for clothes. For example, 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl-4'-chlorophenyl-α-isopropyl acetate of formula II and 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-α-cyanobenzyl-4'-ethoxyphenyl-α- cyclopropyl acetate are cited as the compound of formula I.
