Abstract:
Insecticidal prods. contain cpds. of formula (I) as active agents. In the formula X is 0, S or SO2; R1 is 1-4C alkyl or is benzyl, phenyl or naphthyl opt. ring substd. by 1-3 halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, NO2 or CN; R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl or tri(1-4C alkyl) silyl; R3 and R4 are each H or 1-4C alkyl). Pref. cpds. are 4-phenylthio-2-azetidinone and 4-benzythio-2-azetidinone. (I) are partic. useful as selective agents against aphids, by contact or systemically, (I) are active against strains resistant to phosphoric esters and carbamates.
