PURPOSE: To obtain sufficiently high strength, highly dense bonded portion by the procedure in which a metal having a medium melting point between those of both bonding metals is placed on at least one side of the bonding surfaces of metals which are diffieclt to make pressure welding and then frictional movement is applied to bonding surfaces.

CONSTITUTION: An insert plated with a metal having a medium melting point between those of the two metals to be bonded, e.g., silver, etc., is placed on at least one side of the bonding surfaces of two metals, e.g., stainless steel and Al, etc., which are difficult to make pressure welding, and then they are subjected to a frictional pressure welding. Thus, it is possible to obtain a great bonding strength.
