Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion instrument which is easy to insert an intraocular lens into the eye by setting a deformable intraocular lens in the setting member of a wrapping member in advance.
SOLUTION: Two open/close mechanisms 6a, 6b are provided at the setting part of a wrapping member 5 fixed at the main body 12 of this insertion instrument, a fixing member 10 is fitted at a holder 8 fitted between the wrapping member 5 and the main body 12, with the open/close mechanisms 6a, 6b opened, a deformable intraocular lens whose optical part has a memory characteristics is positioned at the setting part in advance. When the holder 8 is retreated, a taper part 14 formed at the front end of the holder deforms the lens to be small, a pushing rod 13 fitted at the main body 12 is advanced to push the intraocular lens into the eye.
