An insertion system includes a folding device to perform either single-sheet folding to fold a single sheet at a time or batch folding to fold multiple sheets together at a time, and an insertion device to insert paper into envelopes. The operation of pressing a simultaneous setting button a21 on an enclosure setting input screen a20 makes it possible for the system to simultaneously set a single-sheet folding process or a batch holding process when folding multiple sheets and inserting them into envelopes. Alternatively, the operation of pressing an individual setting button a22 allows the insertion system to perform individual setting. Thus, a variety of folding and insertion processing can be efficiently performed.
