Abstract:

To provide a method of preventing the elution of soluble heavy metals from a treated material by economically synthesizing a treating agent capable of insolubilizing the soluble heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, lead from an easily obtainable chemical to insolubilize soil and industrial waste contaminated with the soluble heavy metals.

The insolubilizing agent of the heavy metals is composed of iron sulfide (II) obtained by aqueous solution reaction and the insolubilizing treatment of the heavy metals in the soil or the industrial waste is performed by treating with the addition of the insolubilizing agent to the soil or the industrial waste containing the heavy metals.
