Self-supported insoluble penicillinamidase prepared by cross-linking the exocellular amidase produced by B. megaterium with a dialdehyde followed by treatment with a salt containing a multivalent anion provides a superior hydrolytic catalyst for 6-APA, 7-ACA and 7-ADCA production.
