To provide an inspecting apparatus for a controller of a water heater capable of rapidly inspecting the controller without according to a sequence of a combustion control.
In the water heater for communicating a controller 1 of the heater with a remote controller 3 with a communication signal having SA, DA, PFC and a data part of a two-wire type signal line 12, an inspecting apparatus 8 comprises a confirming signal sender 10 for generating the signal having in combination specific SA, PFC for inspecting to transmit it, an input unit for inputting a state of a load 2 of the heater, and an inspecting apparatus controller 9 for controlling an operation of the apparatus 8. In this case, the controller 9 outputs a specific communication signal designated by data of the data part desired to be driven of the load 2 to the line 12 by the sensing means 10, and when the designated load is driven according to the state of the load 2 input through the unit 11, it is decided to be normal of if not driven, it is decided to be abnormal.
