Abstract:
PURPOSE:To lighten and simplify a scanning mechanism, and to improve the measuring performance by providing a fixed exciting coil for surrounding a drum can-like object, and a fixed probe so that the drum can-like object can be allowed to ascend and descend and rotated. CONSTITUTION:A drum can 11 is placed on a rotary table 9, the drum can 11 is surrounded by a fixed exciting coil 1, and an eddy current type wall thickness probe 13 of the lower part is brought into contact with the side face of the drum can 11. Subsequently, the table 9 is rotated by a rotation use motor 10, and also, a lifting base 7 is allowed to ascend and descend by a lifting use motor 8, and by scanning the whole area of the side face of the drum can 11 by the probe 13, the corrosion excess thickness of the side face of the drum can 11 is inspected. Also, when the drum can 11 has ascended up to a position being right under a probe 13' of the upper part, the lifting operation is stopped, the probe 13' is moved in the radial direction of the drum can 11 by a motor 17, and on the other hand, the table 9 is rotated, the whole area of the upper face of the drum can 11 is scanned by the probe 13', and the corrosion excess thickness of the upper face of the drum can 11 is inspected. In this regard, it is also possible to provide the same scanning mechanism on the lower position of the drum can 11.
