Title:
INSPECTION DEVICE FOR HEATER FOR DIE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3231056
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect a short circuit between a heater for heating the hot-runner block of an injection molding die and the die.
CONSTITUTION: Cartridge heaters CH1-CH4 and band heaters BH1-BH3 are installed to each section of a hot-runner block 06. When short-circuit inspection currents at low voltage are made to flow collectively through all heaters and the generation of a short circuit is detected by short circuit currents leaking from the heaters to the die side, an alarm is given by a buzzer. The heater, in which the short circuit is generated, is specified by separately making short- circuit inspection currents flow through each heater. When temperature-rise voltage is applied to said heater in order to elevate the temperature of the heater, a breaker is turned OFF and the temperature rise of the heater is stopped when there is the position of the short circuit, thus protecting an operator and facilities.
