Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an inspection device for an information recording medium which never stops its function even in the case of the frequent occurrence of a parity error in subcoding. CONSTITUTION:A parity error counter 20 (counting means) to count the number of the parity errors in the subcoding and a comparison circuit 21 which compares this count value with a reference value and generates an inspection impossibility signal NG when the count value exceeds the reference value are provided, and a control part 12 stops inspection on the inspection impossibility signal NG. Since the function is never stopped even in the case that the parity error occurs frequently in the subcoding, the initialization of the inspecting device in case of the suspension of the function need not be conducted as in the past, and inspection efficiency can be improved.
