PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for a sheet object for implementing "easy detection of defects" and the like, as well as with other features, comprising both a visible light detecting unit that detects defects by imaging a portion irradiated with a visible light on a sheet object, and an infrared ray detecting unit that detects defects by imaging a portion irradiated with an infrared ray on the sheet object.SOLUTION: An inspection device 1 detects a defect F of a sheet S. The inspection device includes a visible light detection unit 3 that detects the defect F by imaging a position Tirradiated with a visible light K on the sheet S by a visible light imaging device 2, and an infrared detection unit 5 that detects the defect F by imaging a position Tirradiated with an infrared ray R by an infrared imaging device 4.
